Alcohol and Drug Awareness Project
Committee Advisor: Brandon Muth
Project Leader: Position Available

Project Meeting times to be announced

The objective of this project is to reach out to the local youth and inform them about the affects of drugs and alcohol. We travel to different high schools around the Chico area and present PowerPoint presentations. The PowerPoint discusses all the different types of drugs as well as the ways they can and do alter one's senses and brain functions. We also talk about the short and long term affects that drugs and alcohol play on the body as well as its major organs. This project looks great on a resume and provides opportunities for public speaking.

Soldier's Shoulder

Committee Advisor: Lisa Kenneweg
Project Leader: Morgan Buzdon

Wednesdays at 6 PM in the Library

Soldiers Shoulder gives AMA members the opportunity to help provide goods and needed support to our servicemen and servicewomen currently serving overseas. Previously, AMA members worked side by side with local high school students at Chico High to gather and send care packages to our troops aboard. This year we plan to expand our project and make our goals known to the community. We also intend to gather and ship out used cell phones for our troops abroad.  If you know someone currently stationed overseas please give us their FPO address so we can send them a care package.

Advanced Equipment Systems (AES)

Committee Advisor: Angie Nahe
Project Leader: Position Available

Wednesdays at 6PM in the Library

Advanced Equipment Systems is a local company that designs, manufactures, and sells automated finishing systems. This company markets to woodworking companies who create doors, cabinet doors, and any other wood products. Finishing systems are the machines that replace human labor in finishing wood. During the course of this semester, the AES marketing team will create a marketing plan to sell the 3615 Reciprocating Spray Machine. We will also create a plan to increase name recognition. To do this, we will design a product listing in a trade publication, use web marketing to increase awareness of the AES website, and even create a print advertisement. The AES marketing team will learn real-life marketing, gain leadership skills, and Adobe Photoshop skills. To learn more information about AES, visit http://www.advancedequipmentsys.com.
